Below is a short 3 minute video which describes a very important idea: Neutrality is the answer.
We live in a world of duality and extremes. Right/left, light/dark, male/female, positive/negative, and on and on. This duality starts at the molecular level (protons/electrons) and extends right through our social culture, political ideology, religion, relationships, seasons, natural cycles, and every other aspect of life.
The tendency to choose one side or the other is built into our cultural framework. For example, from a young age we are told to cheer for the “home team” while animosity toward the “other side” is not only acceptable, it is applauded.
However, the emotional, psychological and even physical consequences of taking sides will eventually take its toll. When we are adamant about taking one side or another, we are choosing to struggle against the unseen force of the opposite side, which leads to fear, worry, doubt, anger, etc. In terms of our spiritual evolution, this is akin to sailing against the wind or swimming upstream.
While polar opposites are required for our earthly world to function (we need both summer and winter, day and night, protons and electrons, men and women, etc.) the two opposites of life should be seen as compliments performing a dance rather than a scenario where one side to needs to “win”. Imagine if all the protons got together and tried to get rid of all the electrons – it would be absurd.
Neutrality is the middle point and finding our “sacred neutral” is how we ascend as individuals and as societies. “Balance” is another word for neutrality, it is the point where we do not take a side, we simply observe and admire the dance of polarity and appreciate the way it expresses itself in nature and in our lives.
