Thank you Miche for your comment. I loved your post by the way, thank you for leaving a link to it. I know that you looked at walking from a different perspective but still your mediation serves the same purpose as the techniques that I've mentioned in my post. Body, mind and spirit are linked together and you need to develop all of them if you want to experience inner balance and peace.

Hi Anastasiya! Thanks for putting this together. I totally agree that our bodies are temples, the vehicle for our souls in this human experience. And connecting with them is a key to well-being.

I particularly liked "walk to clear your head". It's one of the simplest things we can do, and I just wrote a post on this very thing, though not from an exercise perspective, but certainly clearing your head and moving your body at the same time is a beautiful thing to do. It strengthens the connection between both, and helps us stay centered. The post is on Regaining Inner Peace, Clarity and Focus through Walking Gratitude Meditation: http://bit.ly/4THDUD

You are right Lana. Body and mind connection actually can make our lives much easier. For example a person who wants to lose some weight but does not have enough motivation to start exercising or eating less can start improving their inner world. They can read, learn to control their emotions, try medication to practice mindfulness and seek happiness along the way. They want even notice how those pounds will start melting and their body will guide towards a healthier lifestyle. The same principle works in the opposite direction: take care of your body and you will start taking care of your mind, soul and spirit.

Great article Anastasiya, I so agree with everything. Mind and body are interconnected. What I also noticed is that when you change your mind, the body tends to follow. You still need to make an effort of course and the points that you provided are great, but it is easier to actually follow through.

When I started being serious about personal development, started visualizing myself healthy and full of energy, I naturally stopped eating meat, even thought I was a big meat lover in the past. My body just doesn't want it anymore and I feel better as a result. I guess I started hearing my body better and the signals that it was sending me. Just like you said in #12 - I hear the food that I eat now.

Thank you Jules, Madeleine, Walter and Justin for sharing your thoughts on this issue. I am sure that the more people realize how important it is to be mentally and physically fit the healthier and stronger the whole humanity will be.

Follow your dreams by finding an exercise you love. Even if you never go pro, find a group of friends to play football, start taking martial arts.

I believe that physical health is a manifestation of the state of inner balance and harmony. Developing one's self to highher conciousness requires physical well-being. I wholly agree with the wisdom you have extended here. :-)

Anastasiya, This is such an important message. I think we tend to take our health for granted when we are young, but we need to take care of it our whole lives. Developing good health habits when we're young keeps us physically healthier, mentally sharper, and more energetic for our whole lives.

I've experienced this in my own life, and, even though I have Type 2 diabetes (without the usual risk factors), I've controlled it for years by diet and exercise alone. In fact, the last time my lab results came back, my doctor said, "Keep doing what you've been doing."

This something I am just learning. I have spent years working on the mental and spiritual ignoring the body. I am trying to incorporate all of those elements as I write and in my daily practice.
